She is a full professor of European Union Law at the University of Teramo.
At the University of Teramo, she has also been the director of the Department of Law, since 2022, and an academic senator. She was a member of the Board of Directors, president of the degree course in Legal Services and of the degree course in Law.
After graduating in Law from LUISS-Guido Carli with top marks and honors, she carried out her entire academic career at the University of Teramo: from her PhD in International Organization, to the research grant and then to the position of researcher in International Law, until she took up service as an association professor and then full professor of European Union Law. She has also held teaching positions at the University of Roma Tre and LUISS-Guido Carli (where she still teaches).
Holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in “European Criminal Justice”, she is also vice-coordinator of the Forum “Immigration, Borders and Asylum” of the Italian Association of Scholars of European Union Law (AISDUE).
She is a member of the management committee, the scientific committee or the referee committee of several scientific journals on European integration law.
Her publications, present in the main Italian and international scientific journals, range from the law of criminal judicial cooperation in the EU (a topic on which she holds one of the few teachings in Italy), to immigration law, differentiated integration, Economic and Monetary Union, and common foreign and security policy.
