Liberalism School 2019 – Messina: Rosa Faraone´s lessons on “Locke and liberalism as tolerance”

With a lecture on “Locke and Liberalism as Tolerance”, held by Professor Rosa Faraone, professor of History of Philosophy in the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilization of the University of Messina, the 2019 edition was inaugurated today in the University Library of the Messina Liberalism School of the Luigi Einaudi Foundation in Rome, with the presence of Avv. Andrea Pruiti Ciarello, director of the Luigi Einaudi Foundation and sen. Enzo Palumbo, member of the scientific committee.

Also this year the School, organized by its General Director Prof. Pippo Rao, relies on the scientific direction of Prof. Pippo Gembillo, Professor of History of Philosophy at the University, of the collaboration of Ing. Edoardo Milio as head of institutional relations, Dr. Salvatore Totaro as head of the secretariat and Dr. Samuele Tardiolo, head of communications at the School.

Today’s lesson opened with the memory of Prof. Girolamo Cotroneo, who for many years was scientific director of the School, with the introductory report of Prof. Gembillo, who illustrated the program of the School. The later will try to follow the path that the freedom has performed over the centuries until today, reborning from the difficulties it has always encountered. The School, which will take place in two weekly lessons, will end on May 31 with a round table that will involve the presidents of the professional orders, who have given their patronage to the organization of the School.
